With the downfall of Mauryan dynasty the chapter of golden history and grandeur was closed and the conspirators massacred ruthlessly wherever Mauryas or Monks were found, thus they were tortured and  compelled to leave their palces and take refuge in the far flung areas of the country. The History and culture was destroyed.  Even Universities, Libraries, Monasteries and World famous monuments were not spared.  All this was either burnt, destroyed or converted into temples etc.  Now, Community is scattered not only in different parts of India  but in many countries of the world, specially British ruled countries where Indians were migrated as agricultural labour.  With the pace of time and distance from the origin the Name of Caste, Titles/ Sub Titles have changed, Language, Social Customs, Life Style has also changed and people have adapted the style prevailing in the surroundings.

One thing is common that community had been categorized as Vaishya dependent on agriculture growing basically vegetables, food grains and horticulture. Majority of the populace had been simple, laborious, vegetarian, religious and non- violent. Community was barred from entering Gurukuls, made slave to Hindu Religion, seek advice of Gurus for all Pujas, Ceremonies and Rituals and in turn had to pay handsome hard earned money as Dakshina (Donation). They forgot their history, unity and strength, trapped in a web of superstitions and bound by religious terror.

After spread of education available to every citizen of the country the community dared to enter the School, Colleges and Universities to gain knowledge and employment.  In present the people are struggling to find a respectable place in the society and climb the ladder of development.
